Eligibility for applicant:
Meet the health and character requirement
Meet the balance-of-family test:
1. At least half of your children and step-children are eligible children, or
2. There are more eligible children living in Australia than in any other single country
3. If you want to submit the application onshore, your current visa condition cannot include 8503.
4. You cannot apply for this visa if you have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (subclass 870) visa.
Eligibility for sponsor:
The sponsor must be at least 18 years of age, and should be Australian citizens, permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens, and have lived in Australia for two years.
The sponsor should be applicant’s natural child, or adopted child, or stepchildren.
The sponsor is required to provide proof of financial support for the applicant before the visa is approved

This temporary visa is available for parents of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen stay temporarily in Australia.

This visa allows applicant work and study in Australia
Applicant can apply for a permanent Contributory Parent visa (subclass 143) with this visa.

Sponsored Parent (Temporary) visa subclass 870
This temporary visa is available for parents of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen stay temporarily in Australia., the application can be submitted both onshore and offshore.
Visa overview
Can visit and stay in Australia for up to 3 or 5 years per visa
The applicant can visit and leave Australia without limit during the validity period of your visa.
The applicant can apply for further visas to visit up to a maximum period in Australia of 10 years.
