Parent Immigrant Visa Processing Progress (2024.2.29)
As of February 29, 2024, the status of parental immigration proceedings at USCIS is as follows:
Contributory Parent visa applications with a queue date up to June 2017
Parent visa applications with a queue date up to November 2011
Aged Parent visa applications with a queue date up to January 2013.

Please note that the Department has to process Parent and Contributory Parent applications in lodgement date order and within annual limits. They have identified some discrepancies in processing times between offshore and onshore visas in both Parent and Contributory Parent categories. And they are taking action to correct these.
The Department will confirm the queue date for all fee-paying parent visas submitted before 1 June 2018 according to the submission date of the application, and will assess applications submitted on or after 1 June 2018 to give a queue date if they meet the visa criteria.
The Immigration Department's assessment of the Elderly Parent Visa (BP804) in Australia was carried out in January 2013. Domestic elderly parent visa applications with queuing dates after January 2013 May take longer to process, while overseas parent visa applications (AX103) will be processed to bring the processing dates back to parity.
The demand for parent visas is greater than the annual quota available. Therefore, the processing time of the application may be very long.
