What is Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190)?

Australian skilled migration needs points-tested, the current immigration policy of minimum score is 65 points. If you submit Expression of Interest (EOI) application, you can submit 190 visa application only when invited by state or territory government.

Same as 189 Skilled Independent visa, 190 Skilled Nominated is a points-based permanent residence visa. It is for skilled people from within and outside Australia who wish to live and work in Australia. State or territory government sponsorship means that the state government will award 5 points to retain the talent it needs.

Visa can be applied onshore and offshore. After granted the 190 permanent visa, you must live in the state where sponsored you for 2 years, than you can move to other states.

Depending on the type of talent needed, state governments have slightly different requirements for nominating occupations and work experience, and the minimum invitation score can vary significantly as a result.

Application condition:

- You must be aged under 45 when the state or territory government invite you to apply for the visa.

- Your occupation must be on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations for this visa stream.

- Have a suitable skills assessment.

- 5 extra points for receiving a state or territory guarantee

- At least 5 in each of the test components on the IELTS.

- Obtain a score of 65 points on EOI assessment
