These visas are available to the overseas biological, adopted or stepchildren of an Australian citizen, eligible New Zealand citizen or hold of an Australian permanent visa. 101 subclass visa must be presented offshore from Australia and 802 subclass visa must be presented onshore in Australia.
With these visas, the child can:
Migrate to Australia as a permanent resident
The children can travel to and from Australia as many times as they want for five years from the date their visa is granted
Work and study in Australia
Enrol in Australia’s public healthcare scheme, Medicare
Apply for Australian citizenship if eligible

Have no partner, dependent on parents
If the child is under 18 years old, or
Over 18 and under 25 years and studying full time, or
Over 18 years with a disability

Dependent Child visa
This subclass visa is available to the dependent child (including biological child, adopted child and stepchild) of the temporary spouse visa holder whose permanent spouse visa is pending, and the application should be lodged either within or outside Australia.
Visa overview
This is a temporarily subclass visa, with this visa the child can move to or stay in Australia until their parent’s permanent visa application has been approved.
The applicant can travel to and from Australia as many times as the applicant want.

If the child is aged 16 years and over, they must meet the character requirement
Not in a relationship.
Under 18 years of age; or a parent over 18 who is financially dependent on a temporary spouse visa or who is disabled and unable to work.
Basic requirements for sponsors: Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen at least 18 years of age.
The applicant and the parent on the temporary spouse visa must be sponsored by the same sponsor.

Adoption visa Subclass 102
This visa subclass is for children under the age of 18 who have been or will be adopted by an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible sponsor New Zealand citizen and must apply outside Australia.
Visa advantages:
Children can stay in Australia indefinitely
Free travel to and from Australia
Work and study in Australia are permitted
Covered by Australian Medicare
If you meet the conditions, you can apply to become an Australian citizen
Application eligibilities:

Has been adopted by the sponsor or is in the process of adoption

Orphan Relative Visa (subclass 117)
This subclass visa is available for overseas children under 18 years of age, but they must be relatives of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen whose parents are unable to care for them due to death, permanent incapacity or whereabouts unknown and must submit their application outside Australia.
Visa advantages:
The child could migrate to Australia as a permanent resident, and free travel to and from Australia.
Working and study in Australia for no limit.
Access Australia Medicare.
Apply for Australian citizenship if eligible.
