Student and Guardian Visa Application Charge Increases from 1 July 2024

As part of the 2024-25 Budget Decision Visa Application Charge (VAC) Uplift, the Australian Government has announced changes to the application fees for Student (Subclass 500) and Student Guardian (Subclass 590) visas. These changes involve a one-off percentage increase rather than the usual annual indexation.

Effective from 1 July 2024, the base application charge for Student visas will rise significantly, from $710 to $1,600.

Additionally:

The application charge for each additional applicant aged 18 or above will increase from $530 to $1,190.

The application charge for each additional applicant under 18 will increase from $175 to  $390.

Applicants are advised to plan accordingly, considering these changes when preparing their applications.
