Hong Kong Citizen Immigration to Australia Program - (No income requirement, no language requirement, no skills assessment requirement)
Since November 2021, under the Migration Legislation Amendment (Hong Kong) Regulations 2021, both of these visa approval pathways are referred to as Hong Kong streams, allowing Hong Kong passport holders or British National Overseas (BNO) passport holders to apply for a 189 Skilled Independent visa or a 191 Regional Skilled visa.

Compared to traditional skilled migration pathways, the Hong Kong Citizen Skilled Migration pathway offers several advantages. Details can be found in the table below.

Preferred Immigration Plan
For applicants residing outside Australia: Hong Kong individuals with intentions of skilled migration can choose to enroll in Australian university courses, apply for a 485 Graduate Work visa upon graduation, and upon approval of the five-year Graduate Work visa, continue residing to meet residency requirements for further visa applications.
